Just returned from another trip to Detroit for the North American International Auto Show. It was a great show this year and sports/performance cars seemed to be the common thread. It’s safe to say that the American auto industry has fully recovered and is now thriving.
The Ford GT was definitely the star of the show. I wasn’t sure about this car when I initially saw the photos. It looked a bit unrefined. I didn’t feel that way when I saw it in person, though. Awesome!
The Shelby Mustang GT350R was painted the same gorgeous shade of metallic blue as the GT.
Ford even had an original GT40 and Shelby Mustang on display for a little history lesson.
Acura NSX
Buick Avenir Concept
The Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V models looked great. Actually, every Cadillac was impressive. Especially the interiors. I think Caddy is finally there…a legitimate competitor for the German luxury makers.
Speaking of Germans…
A neat little Mini Concept.
Jaguar F-Type Coupe.
Infiniti Q60 Concept
Alfas, New and Old.
Hyundai SantaCruz Concept. This thing was a bit of a surprise for me. The surfacing is really nice: entertaining without being frivolous. Although, I’d like to get an explanation on that door vent…
The Corvette Z06 on display had a pretty extreme aero package.
Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Concept.
Toyota FT-1 Concept. It was shown in red last year. I really dug the liquid silver finish.
Lexus RCF GT3 race car
Maserati Alfieri Concept
Nissan GTR Nismo
